Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) projectFrom 2003 through 2007, The South Texas Environmental Institute (STEI) of Texas A&M University - Kingsville (TAMUK) led an effort for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to assess the water quality of eleven stream segments in Basin Groups D & E (Segments 1427, 1803A, 1803B, 1806A, 1815, 1906, 1908, 1913, 2104, 2107 and 2113). The segments were listed on the 2000 State Of Texas Clean Water Act 303(d) list as impaired due to dissolved oxygen and bacteria. Regarding Bacteria Impairments, the project resulted in some de-listing or also assisting in establishing priorities for Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL's) for the given constituent and the impairment. The segments were located within the Colorado, Guadalupe, San Antonio and Nueces River Basins. |
